Panasonic E-Bike Tuning – License Code for Unlocking via Micro-USB

This product is a digital license code that is provided immediately after purchase. Once it has been provided, a return or refund is no longer possible.

So please clarify beforehand:

• Does your e-bike have a Panasonic drive system and is it from 2013 or newer?
• Does your e-bike have a Micro-USB port? The connection to the computer runs through it.
• Do you have a computer or laptop with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge? (Smartphones and tablets are not supported here.)
• Do you have a real Micro-USB data cable?

• a compatible e-bike with a Panasonic drive system built from 2013 onwards
• a computer or laptop
• Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
• a suitable Micro-USB data cable
• an internet connection
• the license code you received by email

Important: The cable must be able to transfer data. Charge-only cables do not work.

Installation with a smartphone, tablet, iPhone or iPad is not supported for this product.

1. Order the license code.
2. Open the email with the license code and instructions.
3. Open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on your computer.
4. Go to our activation page: unlocked.bike
5. Select “Panasonic” as the brand.
6. Connect the e-bike to the computer with the Micro-USB data cable.
7. Switch on the e-bike, click “Connect Bike” and select your e-bike from the list.
8. Enter the license code in full (25 characters).
9. Choose the assistance speed and apply the motor tuning.
10. Wait until the page has verified and confirmed the new setting.

⏱️ Activation normally takes only a few minutes. The page first reads the current setting of your e-bike and saves the original setting before it changes anything. Do not disconnect the cable, do not switch browser tabs and do not minimize the window while the connection is active. For the second bike, repeat the steps with the same code.

Every license code has a fixed number of bike slots:

• 1 e-bike – one code with one slot, for one bike
• 2 e-bikes (1 code for both) – one code with two slots, for two bikes

In both cases you receive exactly one code. Two separate codes are not sent.

Important: Every activation takes up a slot permanently. Once all slots are taken, the code is used up and cannot be transferred to another bike.

With many tuning solutions, the display shows values that are too low after unlocking. Panasonic is different: The display continues to show the actual speed and correct ride data. You do not have to convert anything and you do not need a GPS speedometer app.

Can I set my own top speed? On the activation page you choose between the increased assistance speed (up to approx. 45 km/h) and the original setting.

After successful activation, the motor provides assistance up to approximately 45 km/h, depending on the Panasonic system and bike configuration. The speed you can actually reach depends on:

• Panasonic motor and system generation
• gear ratio and selected gear
• battery charge level and battery condition
• rider weight and load
• tire pressure and tire size
• uphill or downhill gradient
• headwind and outside temperature
• technical condition of the e-bike

Unlocking the speed is no guarantee that every e-bike will reach the maximum speed under all conditions.

In most cases the problem lies with the USB cable or the connection to the computer. Check the following in order:

1. Switch on the e-bike.
2. Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a computer, not a smartphone.
3. Make sure the cable is a data cable.
4. Try a different Micro-USB data cable.
5. Use a different USB port on the computer, ideally directly on the device and not via a hub.
6. Check that the cable is firmly seated in the Micro-USB port of the e-bike.
7. Close the browser completely and open it again.
8. Open the activation page again and stay in the same tab while connected.

If the activation page reports that your bike is not supported or not ready, do not change anything else and send us a screenshot via the contact form.

The software tuning can be deactivated again via our activation page. To do this, connect the e-bike to the computer again, open unlocked.bike and restore the original motor setting.

A bike slot that is already taken remains assigned to that e-bike even after deactivation.

The e-bike should be in its original or a compatible software state. Software modifications already made, replaced electronic components or non-original system parts can affect installation and function.

Future updates: A software update from the manufacturer or at the dealer can affect how the tuning works. You can find the current status under News & Updates.

Higher speeds require more energy. This can reduce the range. The following components can also be subjected to greater stress: battery, motor, brakes, tires, chain, cassette, suspension.

Check the e-bike regularly and make sure that the brakes, tires and drivetrain are technically suitable for the higher load and in perfect condition.

After completing your order, you will usually receive an email within a few minutes with your personal Panasonic tuning license code, the link to the installation page, step-by-step instructions and important notes on use.

As this is a digital product, no parcel is shipped and there are no shipping costs. If the email does not arrive, please also check your spam, junk or promotions folder.

This product is digital content that is not supplied on a physical data carrier.

By placing your order, you expressly request that we begin performance of the contract before the withdrawal period expires, and you confirm your awareness that you lose your right of withdrawal once performance begins.

The right of withdrawal expires when the license code is provided. A return, exchange or refund is no longer possible after that, even if the code has not yet been redeemed.

A license code is valid for the number of bike slots selected at purchase and cannot be transferred to other bikes.

Removing the factory speed limit can cause the e-bike to lose its approval for use on public roads.

Use is permitted only where the law allows it, for example on enclosed private property with the consent of the owner, on non-public test tracks or as part of permitted competitions.

Before installation and use, inform yourself about the regulations that apply in your country. The modification can affect the operating permit, insurance cover and manufacturer's warranty. Installation and use are your own responsibility.

Safety information: Riding at higher speeds increases the braking distance and the risk of accidents and injury. Wear a suitable bicycle helmet and appropriate protective clothing, regularly check the brakes, tires, chain and drivetrain, and adapt your speed to the conditions and your riding ability.

Liability for defects: The statutory provisions apply. A voluntary manufacturer's warranty is to be considered separately.

Can I return the license code?
No. The right of withdrawal expires when the code is provided. So clarify before you buy whether your system is compatible. We check this free of charge via the contact form.

From which year of manufacture does the code work?
For e-bikes with a Panasonic drive system built from 2013 onwards. For older e-bikes or if you are unsure, please ask us first.

Is the actual speed displayed?
Yes. The display continues to show the actual speed and correct ride data.

How quickly do I receive the license code?
Usually by email within a few minutes of purchase.

Do I have to install a tuning chip?
No. Activation is fully digital.

Can I install the tuning with a smartphone?
No. This product requires a computer or laptop with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

Which cable do I need?
